One of the many pictures from this site. It may be by Lee Miller, or I may have seen her picture of the same scene, which I remember being framed slightly differently.
187. A general of the Volkssturm lies dead on the floor of city hall, Leipzig, Germany.


He committed suicide rather than face U.S. Army troops who captured the city on April 19, 1945.
